Il Italian Ministry of Tourism has launched the "Fondo Tematico Turismo Sostenibile" to support the tourism sector. The new fund will provide €500 million to Italian hotels and restaurants that have been severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The fund will offer access to various financial products and is aimed at supporting initiatives for the construction, restructuring, and modernization of tourism structures and infrastructures. Additionally, the funds will support sustainable mobility and the green and digital transition of the sector. The support will be provided through selected financial intermediaries of the European Investment Bank, and the funds must be disbursed by December 31, 2025, for eligible projects or investments. The application process has already begun, and the deadline for submissions is yet to be announced.
