Itinerary

  • Departure Departure from Information point

    Departure with private shuttle from Matera to Altamura, meeting with the authorized guide and start of the guided tour.
  • Historic center of Altamura

    The walk starts from Porta Bari, one of the two gates that give access to the historic center and which lead to the beautiful Cathedral commissioned by Emperor Frederick II of Swabia in 1232, which has one of the most beautiful sculpted portals in Puglia, the women's galleries with splendid three-mullioned windows from the Swabian era and the Gothic-style public clock tower from 1858.
  • Tasting and walk through the alleys

    Stop in a typical bakery where you can taste the famous Altamura bread and then visit the cloisters, closed streets that open onto small courtyards with an architectural identity typical of the city.
  • Lunch
