Once upon a time there was a boy named Marcolino who lived in the Sassi of Matera.
He was a very curious child and loved exploring every corner of his city, especially the uninhabited caves.
Marcolino had an immense spirit of adventure and dreamed of discovering something extraordinary.
One day, during one of his excursions, Marcolino noticed a small crack in one of the caves that he had never seen before.

He decided to explore the passage and, to his great amazement, found himself in a fantastic world where animals could talk. Marcolino was ecstatic about this wonderful place, but soon discovered that all the animals were afraid of a giant who lived there.
The animals feared that the giant would consider them only as a snack and did not have the courage to face him.
But Marcolino, brave as always, was not afraid. He decided to talk to the animals and convince them to help him face the giant.
Together, Marcolino and the animals set out in search of the giant. When they finally met him, they realized that the giant was not at all as they expected.
He was a kind and gentle being and only ate vegetables that he grew himself.
The giant was happy to have new friends and spent many days playing and having fun with Marcolino and the animals.
Marcolino learned that often things are not as they seem and that fear can prevent us from seeing the true beauty of things.
Thanks to his adventure, Marcolino became even more brave and daring and continued to explore the world in search of new adventures.
In the end, Marcolino returned to his everyday life, but never forgot the wonderful adventure he had lived in the Sassi of Matera.
And so, the story ended with a happy ending, where Marcolino's courage and curiosity had led to the discovery of a fantastic world and new friends.
