The Church of San Pietro Caveoso was initially built in 1218.
However, over the years, the building underwent numerous modifications and renovations, losing many of its original features.
In the 17th century, the church was completely renovated with the addition of a Baroque facade and a bell tower.
The interior of the church was enlarged and enriched with the addition of chapels, and the ceiling was entirely made of tuff.
In 1706, the church was again consecrated and underwent further modifications, including the addition of a spire on the bell tower, stucco coverings and decorations, and the addition of a wooden ceiling above the existing tuff one.
